Kansas City Wineries – Belvoir Winery

Belvoir Winery

Belvoir Winery

Last weekend was absolutely gorgeous in Kansas City and Sunday seemed like the perfect day to go in search of a new Kansas City Winery . . . Belvoir Winery.  Since they are open 7 days a week you can make the short 20 minute drive from downtown Kansas City whenever it fits into your schedule.

Belvoir Winery is listed on the National Historic Registry and is located at 1325 Odd Fellows Road in Liberty, Missouri. The staff will fill you in on the property’s early history as the Reed Springs Hotel and on through its historic time as the Odd Fellows Home. The tasting room is located in the main building that was built in 1900. The drive up to the winery is beautiful and impressive. I loved the stain glass as you entered into the tasting room . . . they don’t build buildings like this anymore!  Daily wine tastings are complimentary and after you pick your favorite you can relax and enjoy the historic building or move outside to the covered terrace or to the shade of the trees on the lawn.

During my visit I discovered that the winery hosts “Friday Night Wine Downs” May through August, with music starting at 7:00 p.m. This would be a great place to bring friends and enjoy a sunset during the summer.
