Favorite Trips of 2014

powell gardens2014 has been an amazing year! I have had a chance to take lots of trips and make lots of memories. The end of the year has me thinking about all the fun times I have had and being so thankful for the friends and family I got to enjoy them with. Here is a re-cap of my 5 favorite trips of 2014:

1. Key West

Key West is one of my favorite places . . . so much so that I would go there several times a year . . . especially during the winter! You can lay on the beach, rent a scooter or a jet ski, tour Hemingway’s home, etc. You can travel up and down Duval Street listening to great music, eating good food, shopping and people watching. planning a trip to key westDefinitely a place to consider going! Here are some of my tips for planning a trip to Key West.

2. Roatan, Honduras

Roatan is a small island off the coast of Honduras. It was a favorite stop on a very fun cruise. Beautiful weather, relaxed atmosphere.

3. Blue Ridge Parkway

driving blue ridge parkwayThe Blue Ridge Parkway runs 469 miles through Tennessee and North Carolina. This is a perfect road to travel on a motorcycle. Challenging and beautiful . . . you never know what you’ll see on the next turn.

4. Colorado

I’ve taken many trips to Colorado, but they were almost all to go skiing. Going in August is an entirely different thing and so much fun. I got to see some amazing places . . . including Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and the Royal Gorge. The scenery was spectacular and I am definitely going back!royal gorge

5. Galena, Illinois

Galena is so, so much fun!!! Especially with friends. The town is full of dozens upon dozens of historic buildings and sets the stage for lots of shopping, food and fun. If you want to plan a girls weekend here are some tips.

I have to say I would go back to every single one of these places. I already have quite a few trips planned for 2015 and some of these are already back on my list. Do you have any fun places to go in 2015? Any ideas for me???

Here’s to a wonderful 2015!!!

You did get around! Good for you! Of all those places, Key West was my favorite. Gettin there could be a bit taxing with all the bridges and LARGE expanses of water! Seeing as how I haven’t drank intoxicating beverages in a number of years, I’m not sure the “fun” would be the same! But, I’d probably remember a lot more. Mr. Hemingway and I shared the same bar stool I believe!

Too funny! Yes, it definitely would be a different trip but you would certainly enjoy the weather there!
