I travel quite a bit. I love trips to the beach or motorcycle rides with interesting scenery. It’s easier to hop on a plane and take a quick trip somewhere. Occasionally, however, it is worth it to spend a little more time traveling to go somewhere really unique. Here are a few distant places I want to travel to that I have put on my bucket list:
First on my list is the Giant’s Causeway in Ireland. I have wanted to see this site for years. I have made it as far as Edinburgh, but the Giant’s Causeway is located on the coast of northern Ireland. It was formed 50 to 60 million years ago as the result of a volcanic eruption and it is made up of 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. It is an amazing looking coastline!
Mont Saint-Michel in France is #2 on my list. It is located off the northeastern coast in Normandy, France. I have always wanted to go here and I always thought you could walk out to the Abbey when it was low tide. But when I did some research I discovered that you should never try to cross through the mud and quicksand unless you take an experienced guide and have checked the tide tables. I still want to go, but I’ll definitely take a safe way there!
And finally, #3 on my list is Venice, Italy. I think it would be amazing to have a chance to photograph the canals and the buildings. Give me romantic Venice and some gondolas moving around the over 100 small islands that Venice is built on. What an experience that would be!
I’m keeping my list short at this point . . . I’m going to stay focused on these 3 before I move on to some other sites. But I’m open to suggestions!
