The Cashew Patio in Kansas City

Enjoying the patio at the Cashew

This KC Weekend Girl loved the Cashew patio this weekend. Since it’s finally looking like Spring in Kansas City I have renewed my search for fun patios to sit outside on and enjoy the warmer weather. I have only lived in Kansas City for two and a half years, so I haven’t had time to find and enjoy all the great local spots that are available but I am making a list! One that definitely makes my list is the patio at The Cashew. Located in Kansas City’s Crossroads Art District at 2000 Grand Avenue, the location is the perfect spot to meet up with friends. I love the view of Downtown Kansas City from their patio.  If the weather is nice but the patio is full you can sit in the restaurant where the overhead doors will be open, which gives the restaurant a great open-air feeling.

Relaxing at night on the patio

In addition to being on the lookout for great patios, I am also looking for great Happy Hour deals.  The Cashew’s Monday thru Friday Happy Hour runs 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and includes a variety of drink and appetizer specials.  They also have “Joe’s Sunday Funday” with it’s own unique specials and specials during Chiefs games and KU Men’s Basketball games.  Check out their specials at

The Cashew Short Bus

I just recently discovered another fun feature to The Cashew .  .  . The Cashew Short Bus.  You can stop at The Cashew before and after a concert or event in the downtown area and reserve a spot on the Short Bus to shuttle you to and from the event.  And it’s free!  Sounds way more fun than fighting for a parking spot down by the Sprint Center.  The bus even goes to Arrowhead Stadium for regular season home games. (Reservations are required to ride the Short Bus.) This is definitely something to plan on with friends.

I will be continuing my search for great Kansas City restaurant patios. What other places in Kansas City do you think I should I try out?  Let me know in a comment.  Thanks!
